Lahore: (RightNow) A dispute over bread prices intensifies between the Bakers Association and the Food Department. Bakers have threatened to close their ovens.

Sources reveal that the Bakers Association plans to hold a meeting on Saturday to address the price dispute. New prices for bread and naan will be announced during the meeting.

The Bakers Association intends to set the price of bread at 25 rupees and naan at 35 rupees. They warn of closing ovens if forced otherwise.

The Punjab government has yet to finalize new prices for bread and naan. No definitive decision has been made on this matter.

It is noteworthy that in various areas of Karachi, bread prices have increased by 5 rupees. Bread previously sold at 20 rupees is now being sold for 25 rupees.
