Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launches electric bus service in five districts, including Murree.
Lahore: (RightNow) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has inaugurated the green electric bus service in five districts of the province. The districts include Layyah, Chiniot, Sialkot, Okara, and Murree, where electric buses will now be available.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that this electric bus service is the largest public transport system in Pakistan’s history. According to her, Murree is witnessing the launch of the electric bus service for the first time.
The government has arranged special concessions for senior citizens, women, and students. Under this service, 101 new electric buses are being sent to other districts as well.
This project provides a comfortable, safe, and cost-effective travel facility for the people of Punjab. The target is to operate 5 thousand electric buses over the next five years.
It is noteworthy that electric bus services have been operating in various cities of Punjab before, but this is the first time such a service is available in an area like Murree.
