Gilgit-Baltistan: (Right Now News) The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan has disqualified PPP assembly member Fida Muhammad Nashad. This decision was made under the Supreme Appellate Court’s ruling for concealing assets.

Chief Election Commissioner Raja Shahbaz Khan stated that Fida Muhammad Nashad is no longer deemed honest and trustworthy. He was elected from constituency GBA-9 Skardu 3. The Election Commission has announced that the by-election schedule will be released tomorrow.

It should be noted that Fida Muhammad Nashad secured 6,314 votes in GBA-9 Skardu 3. Independent candidate Wazir Muhammad Saleem was the runner-up. Re-polling has commenced in GBA-15 and GBA-17 as per the Supreme Appellate Court’s order.

The polling process is ongoing peacefully. Voting is underway at the women’s polling station Loshi Thak. According to the Election Commission, the polling process is proceeding according to the prescribed regulations.

It is important to note that entry of unauthorized individuals is prohibited in GBA-15 and 17. Under Section 144, only authorized personnel are allowed entry into polling stations.
