Gilgit: (Right Now News) Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and newly elected Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Amjad Hussain Advocate, were presented with a proposal to allow Chinese citizens to enter Gilgit-Baltistan without a visa. The meeting also discussed issues of electricity load shedding and the shortage of subsidized wheat.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was accompanied by Gilgit-Baltistan’s first Governor, Qamar Zaman Kaira. During the meeting, Bilawal and the Chief Minister received a detailed briefing on the province’s issues and resources.
The briefing highlighted that allowing Chinese citizens to visit Gilgit-Baltistan could boost tourism. The lack of an international airport in Gilgit is a major obstacle to promoting tourism.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Chief Minister were also briefed on establishing a healthcare system in Gilgit-Baltistan similar to Sindh’s, using a public-private partnership model. Bilawal assured that every effort would be made for the development of Gilgit-Baltistan.
It is noteworthy that Gilgit-Baltistan residents travel to Xinjiang, China, without a visa. This proposal aims to enhance tourism.
