Rawalpindi: (RightNow) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir arrives in Tehran today. He will attend a crucial meeting on war and regional tensions.

The Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, is on an official visit to Iran’s capital. Military leaders from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey are expected to meet with Iranian officials.

The meeting aims to discuss security and cooperation concerning the war and tension in the region. Saudi Arabia will be represented by Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman.

This is the first high-level meeting under the Mecca Defense Agreement. According to the agreement, an attack on one member country is considered an attack on all three nations.

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey signed a joint defense agreement in August 2026. An emergency meeting of defense officials was held in Riyadh in October.
