Peshawar: (RightNow) The Peshawar High Court has issued a written order regarding the petition against Sohail Afridi’s alleged detention. The court has requested a report from authorities for his recovery.

Sohail Afridi’s brother, Muhammad Amir, filed a petition in court, claiming his brother is being held illegally. He argued that even in emergencies or under governor rule, the Chief Minister’s illegal detention is unjustifiable.

The court inquired from the parties whether the Chief Minister is arrested or named in any case. The court has sought clarification from the IG, CCPO, Chief Secretary, and Home Secretary.

The court ordered that a report on Sohail Afridi’s presence and status be submitted within 10 days. The hearing of the case has been adjourned until November 3.

It is noteworthy that the issue of Sohail Afridi’s detention has been under discussion for a long time, and now the court has demanded a report from the authorities.
