Punjab’s medical universities empower vice chancellors with new ordinance to strengthen administration.
Lahore: (RightNow). Punjab’s seven public medical universities have undergone regulatory changes. The Governor of Punjab has issued a new ordinance.
Under the ordinance, vice chancellors are designated as Chief Executive and Chief Academic Officer. They now hold administrative control of the universities.
According to the new ordinance, the administrative affairs of medical colleges and teaching hospitals are also under the vice chancellors’ jurisdiction.
These changes aim to strengthen the administrative, financial, and oversight systems of medical universities.
It is noteworthy that these amendments in Punjab’s medical universities were made in 2026 to improve educational standards.
