Dubai plans to install new street signs with QR codes by 2030, aiding navigation.
Dubai: (RightNow) Dubai is redesigning street and residential area signs to enhance location finding for residents, drivers, and tourists.
According to Gulf News, new signs will be introduced in 186 areas by 2030. The project aims to standardize sign designs, incorporating QR codes.
The Supreme Committee for Urban Planning, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, and Dubai Municipality will implement the project. In 2026, the first phase will see 2,000 signs installed in areas like Zabeel One and Nad Al Sheba.
The project’s significance lies in providing better guidance, making it easier to reach residential and tourist spots.
It is noteworthy that Dubai already uses signs in various colors to help identify road types and destinations. Blue, green, white, and brown signs serve different purposes.
