Islamabad: (RightNow) Rumors of a ban on sleeper buses have caused a stir on social media across Pakistan. Owners of prominent bus companies and passengers have expressed concern over the matter.

Sleeper buses are popular in Pakistan for long-distance travel, featuring comfortable flatbeds. They are especially considered convenient for children and the elderly.

Bajash Niazi, owner of a well-known bus company, claims the ban targets locally manufactured buses. According to him, imported sleeper buses will not be affected by this restriction.

Some social media users have described sleeper buses as an affordable and comfortable alternative due to expensive air travel and train delays.

It is important to note that no official notification regarding the sleeper bus ban has been issued. The National Highways and Motorway Police have acted based on existing regulations.
