Russia condemns Germany’s drone attack allegations as a war threat, responding to sanctions.
Moscow: (RightNow) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has labeled Germany’s drone attack allegations at Leipzig Airport as a declaration of war. He stated that these accusations are tantamount to a war declaration against Russia, showing no lessons learned from history.
Lavrov, in an interview, criticized Germany for blaming Russia without investigation for the drone attack. He emphasized that this act signifies the beginning of a real war.
Germany announced the closure of the Russian consulate in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin. Lavrov remarked that Germans had previously closed their diplomatic missions before World War II.
The Russian Foreign Minister expressed concern over German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s statement about building Europe’s strongest military. He warned that Russian leadership would draw appropriate conclusions.
It is noteworthy that on August 4, a drone with explosives was found at Leipzig Airport. On September 1, Germany held Russia responsible and imposed sanctions.
