Rawalpindi: (RightNow) The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) raided an illegal call center. In this operation, 28 individuals were arrested.

According to NCCIA, the call center was operated by foreign nationals who committed fraud using fake profiles on Telegram and Facebook. Citizens were targeted through fake profiles of women.

The agency reported that citizens were also defrauded under the guise of e-commerce and investment schemes. Among the arrested are 24 men and 4 women.

NCCIA stated that mobile phones and computers were seized during the raid. Further raids are ongoing to arrest the fugitive mastermind.

It is noteworthy that cases have been filed against the arrested individuals under PECA and relevant laws. The foreign nationals will be deported and blacklisted within 15 days.
