New York: (RightNow) Meta announces new safety measures for teenage users on Instagram and Facebook. These measures include daily screen time limits, nighttime app access restrictions, and bans on contact with unknown adults.

These changes are being implemented under an agreement with 47 U.S. states. Meta aims to reduce unnecessary use and addiction concerns among teenagers.

Meta will implement these changes over the next six months, while age verification may take a year. Parents can allow additional time through monitoring settings.

Under the new system, social media use will be controlled for users under 18. Meta will also improve harmful content reporting and strengthen parental monitoring tools.

It is noteworthy that Meta has already tightened privacy settings for users under 18. The new agreement will further expand safety measures.
