Karachi: (RightNow) Meta is set to stop WhatsApp usage on older smartphones. This decision is due to login blocks on outdated Android and iOS operating systems.

According to WAbetainfo, WhatsApp users will soon receive warnings on older phones. These warnings will indicate login blocks if the operating system is not updated.

Due to Meta’s new policy, users will need to purchase new phones if their operating systems are not updated. The company has ended support for Android 5.0 and 5.1, and iOS 15.5 will now be required.

The aim of this move is to enhance WhatsApp’s advanced chat privacy. Users will lose access to the app upon seeing this warning.

It is important to note that Meta has previously ended support for several old operating systems, and this time, login blocks will occur on outdated systems.
