London: (RightNow) A British newspaper has revealed that Iranian hackers launched an extraordinary cyberattack on a UK power plant last month. As a result, the power plant was non-operational for 4 days.

According to the report, this is the first time hackers linked to the Iranian government have successfully shut down a significant installation in the UK. Following the attack, security measures have been further tightened.

The head of the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre warned that cyberattacks of national importance are carried out by hostile states, including China, Iran, and Russia.

This incident occurred when water supply systems in the US were attacked, affecting 12 states. The British government has not disclosed the identity of the affected plant.
