ECC approves Rs 3.25 billion grant for PTV and Rs 27 billion guarantee for Sialkot Motorway, ensuring financial support for public projects.
Islamabad: (RightNow) The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved a technical supplementary grant for PTV. Rs 3.25 billion will be released to PTV each quarter. This plan is approved to cover the operational expenses of the organization.
According to the Ministry of Finance, important decisions regarding financial support for the public sector were made in the ECC meeting. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting presented the grant summary for PTV for the fiscal year 2026-27.
After detailed consideration, the ECC approved the release of funds to PTV on a quarterly basis. The committee instructed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to present a financial self-sufficiency plan within two months.
The Economic Coordination Committee also approved guarantees worth Rs 27.62 billion for the Sialkot to Kharian Motorway project on a Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis.
It should be noted that these guarantees will facilitate the financial completion of the public-private partnership project. The previously issued Rs 6.94 billion VGF has also been rolled over.
