Punjab government sets wheat price at Rs 3,800 per 40 Kg to stabilize market.
Lahore: (RightNow) The Punjab government has set the wheat release price. Following approval from the Punjab cabinet, the Department of Food Safety and Consumer Protection has issued a notification, effective immediately.
According to the notification, the price for wheat obtained from PASCO and aggregators is set at Rs 3,800 per 40 kilograms. This price aims to improve wheat availability in the market.
The notification is issued under the Punjab Foodstuffs (Control) Act 1958. All commissioners, deputy commissioners, and relevant institutions are instructed to ensure compliance with the orders.
This measure is taken to inform the Pakistan Flour Mills Association and other relevant bodies. It is expected to stabilize wheat prices in the market.
It is noteworthy that rising wheat prices were increasing public difficulties. The government has taken this step to control the price.
