SP Cantonment suspended after police mistakenly raid Attorney General’s house in Lahore.
Lahore: (RightNow) The Superintendent of Police (SP) Cantonment has been suspended following a police raid on the house of Pakistan’s Attorney General, Mansoor Awan. Two officers have been appointed to investigate the raid.
According to police sources, the officers are tasked with reviewing the incident site and reporting to the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO). Following the suspension of SP Cantonment, the CCPO has ordered further investigation into the matter.
Police stated that they mistakenly entered the Attorney General’s house while targeting a neighboring house suspected of harboring criminals. Efforts are ongoing to resolve the misunderstanding.
The incident raises questions about the performance of law enforcement agencies. Senior officials have taken the matter seriously and decided on immediate action.
It is noteworthy that a similar misunderstanding previously led to a police case at the Attorney General’s house, where officers caused damage and took the CCTV system.
