Islamabad: (RightNow) Parliament members are now permitted to have tinted glasses on their vehicles. The Interior Ministry has incorporated new amendments into the Tinted Glasses Permit Policy 2025.

According to the amendment, the annual fee for a tinted glass permit is set at 15,000 rupees. However, current and former parliament members will receive these permits free of charge. The Interior Ministry states these amendments were made following recommendations from the Senate Standing Committee on Interior.

Under the new policy, the permit process for foreign residents has been altered. Now, only diplomats will be issued a permit for tinted glasses.

In the policy draft, the term ‘foreigners’ has been replaced with ‘diplomats.’ The Interior Ministry has sent the amended policy draft to all stakeholders. Once final opinions and suggestions from all institutions are received, the new policy will be implemented.

It is noteworthy that previously, tinted glasses were only allowed under specific conditions. The new amendments provide additional convenience to parliament members and diplomats.
