Geneva: (RightNow) The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has refused to investigate a complaint against FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The complaint was filed by human rights organization FairSquare, alleging Infantino’s support for US President Donald Trump violated the Olympic Charter’s political neutrality.

The complaint is linked to the decision to suspend the 12-month red card ban on US player Folarin Balogun. President Trump admitted discussing the matter with Infantino.

The IOC stated that FIFA’s internal governance and sports regulations do not fall under its code of ethics. According to the IOC, these issues are internal to FIFA and cannot be acted upon.

This matter is gaining importance as the Norwegian Football Federation is considering approaching FIFA’s Ethics Committee. This could impact FIFA’s reputation and is a topic of global discussion.

It should be noted that FIFA suspended the red card ban on US forward Folarin Balogun, allowing him to participate in the knockout match against Belgium. However, the US lost the match.
