Islamabad: (RightNow) In the first 24 days of July, petroleum product prices fluctuated continuously, with an overall trend of increase. During this period, petrol prices rose 6 times and decreased twice, while high-speed diesel became more expensive 6 times and cheaper only once.

On July 3, petrol was priced at Rs 297.53 and high-speed diesel at Rs 309.50 per liter. By July 24, petrol prices had increased to Rs 335.18, and high-speed diesel reached Rs 383.46 per liter.

According to statistics, petrol became Rs 37.65 more expensive per liter in just 24 days. During the same period, high-speed diesel saw a significant increase of Rs 73.96 per liter, nearly double the rise in petrol prices.

On July 3, the government reduced petrol and diesel prices by Rs 1.97 per liter. Subsequently, on July 10, petrol increased by Rs 13.18 and diesel by Rs 13.80, on July 17, petrol by Rs 5.44 and diesel by Rs 31.05, on July 20, petrol decreased by Rs 0.35 while diesel increased by Rs 5.71, on July 21, petrol by Rs 4.93 and diesel by Rs 7.15, on July 22, petrol by Rs 6.39 and diesel by Rs 7.83, on July 23, petrol by Rs 4.40 and diesel by Rs 3.62, and on July 24, petrol by Rs 3.66 and diesel by Rs 4.80 per liter.

It is important to note that the frequent price changes in July have added pressure on the costs of transport, industry, agriculture, and daily-use items. The continuous rise in fuel prices has raised concerns about further inflation.
