Washington: (RightNow) The US has imposed tariffs ranging from 10% to 12.5% on over 60 countries for failing to prevent forced labor. Pakistan is among the countries facing a 10% tariff.

The new tariffs take effect from July 24. According to the White House, this move aims to revive President Trump’s global tariff policy.

US officials have stated that these countries failed to ban imports of goods produced by forced labor. The US has invoked Section 301 of the Trade Act this time.

These tariffs could impact global trade, as several countries have protested, calling them unfair.

It is noteworthy that in February 2026, the US Supreme Court nullified President Trump’s additional tariffs.
