Washington: (RightNow) Lebanese President Joseph Aoun arrived in the U.S. for a four-day visit, meeting President Trump. Discussions focused on Lebanon-Israel relations, disarming Hezbollah, and tensions with Iran.

President Trump stated that the U.S. will support Lebanon, granting it the respect it deserves. He identified Hezbollah as Lebanon’s biggest issue and highlighted U.S. effective measures.

Trump defended his Iran policy, claiming that without U.S. actions, Israel’s existence would be at risk. He asserted damage to Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

President Trump mentioned Iran’s eagerness for negotiations, but emphasized U.S. disinterest without serious talks. Steps to improve Lebanon-Israel relations are also under consideration.

It is noteworthy that last week, two U.S. soldiers were killed in an Iranian attack in Jordan. Trump also accused Iran of interfering in U.S. elections.
