Islamabad: (RightNow) In light of international tensions and rising oil prices, the federal government is reconsidering the implementation of austerity measures in the country. The government is working on various proposals considering the economic situation.

Sources indicate that, on the Prime Minister’s directive, new proposals are being considered to limit government expenses. These include reintroducing the work-from-home policy and imposing restrictions on the use of official vehicles.

Relevant ministries are finalizing procedures to implement these proposals. New guidelines regarding these measures are expected to be issued this week or next.

According to government sources, a formal notification will be issued once these proposals are approved. Some austerity measures have already been implemented in markets.
