From July 20, UAE mandates e-passports for Pakistanis, enhancing travel security.
Abu Dhabi: (RightNow) From July 20, only e-passports will be issued to Pakistanis in the UAE. This decision applies to diplomatic missions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The diplomatic mission stated that passport applications in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will only be accepted in the e-passport category. The aim is to modernize the passport process.
The mission clarified that existing machine-readable passports will remain valid until their expiry, and online passport application services for Pakistanis abroad will continue.
This move is crucial for enhancing the security of travel documents and aligning with international standards. E-passports will provide better facilities for Pakistani travelers at UAE airports.
