Islamabad: (RightNow) The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has rejected the new petroleum price deregulation policy, threatening a strike. They state that if the government does not retract the decision, protests will begin next week.

Chairman Nauman Ali Butt claims the proposed policy is unacceptable. He demands a review of the policy and insists all stakeholders be consulted.

Around 15,000 petrol pump owners nationwide are deeply concerned and expect immediate action from the government. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement.

The new policy is expected to affect oil tankers and the transportation system. The association warns that decisions made without consultation could exacerbate issues.

It is noteworthy that changes in petroleum policy have previously led to multiple protests. The government had promised to include the opinions of all stakeholders.
