Washington: (RightNow) The United States has approved the sale of defense equipment worth billions of dollars to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Under this decision, Saudi Arabia will receive nearly $2 billion in advanced weaponry, while Kuwait has been approved for a defense support package worth millions.

According to the US Department of State, Saudi Arabia will be provided with a $1.96 billion advanced guided missile system. This includes air-to-air and air-to-ground guidance systems.

The extensive package also includes launchers, warheads, rocket engines, fuses, spare parts, technical assistance, and troop training. All these will be supplied by BAE Systems.

The US has also approved a $484 million deal for Kuwait. This agreement aims to maintain and enhance the capabilities of Kuwait’s C-17 aircraft fleet.

It is noteworthy that defense agreements between the US and Saudi Arabia are crucial for strengthening regional stability, and efforts are being made to enhance defense relations with Kuwait as well.
