Iran releases American Dina Karari; Trump welcomes the move as a positive sign for U.S.-Iran relations.
Tehran: (RightNow) Iran has released an American woman despite ongoing U.S. tensions. U.S. President Donald Trump has welcomed this action.
Trump stated on social media that the woman was arrested during the Biden administration in 2024. He praised Iran’s goodwill gesture.
Human rights lawyer Jared Genser revealed the released woman’s name is Dina Karari, who was barred from leaving Iran since December 2024.
Genser wrote on X that Dina is now safe and returning to the U.S., thanking Trump for his efforts.
It is noteworthy that despite tensions between Iran and the U.S., this release is seen as a positive step.
