Washington: (RightNow) The United States has frozen $130 million of digital assets belonging to Iran’s central bank. The announcement was made by the US Treasury Secretary on social media platform X.
Scott Besant stated that this move is part of a campaign to curb Iran’s alleged illegal financial networks. He further emphasized that the US is committed to preventing the misuse of digital assets.
Currently, the US Treasury Department has imposed restrictions on several crypto wallets linked to Iran’s central bank. As a result, $130 million worth of assets have been frozen.
This action is significant as it aims to limit Iran’s financial activities, preventing the Iranian government from accessing funds allegedly obtained through illegal means.
