Iran accuses the US of obstructing cooperation with Oman in the Strait of Hormuz, citing violations of the Islamabad Memorandum.
Tehran: (Right Now News) Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Baghaei, has accused the US of pressuring Oman to hinder the formation of a joint mechanism in the Strait of Hormuz.
He stated in a media briefing that the US has violated the Islamabad Memorandum. Iran asserts its right to retaliate against these violations by the US.
Baghaei mentioned that Iran aims to develop a joint strategy with Oman for the Strait of Hormuz, but US interference is obstructing this process.
He further noted that there is no longer any doubt about the termination of the Islamabad Memorandum. If the US does not adhere to the MoU, Iran will also not fulfill its commitments.
It is important to note that the Islamabad Memorandum was a significant step towards improving Iran-US relations, but its implementation has faced challenges.
