Paris: (Right Now News) FIFA has suspended the ban on American footballer Florian Balogun, prompting France to formally appeal for the revocation of Michael Olise’s yellow card.

Michael Olise received a yellow card for verbal altercation during the match against Paraguay. The French Football Federation stated that while Olise’s action was undesirable in the video replay, the yellow card was unjust.

The French Football Federation has stated that if the yellow card stands, Olise could miss the World Cup semi-final. The federation has appealed for justice, not due to the Balogun case.

It is noteworthy that after the suspension of American footballer Balogun’s ban, this issue has turned into a major controversy in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Balogun received a red card in the match against Bosnia, but American diplomatic efforts led to the suspension of his ban, which Belgium objected to.
