London: (Right Now News) Drinking coffee not only boosts mental alertness but also protects against deadly diseases. A new medical study has revealed that coffee reduces the risk of liver diseases.

According to the research, individuals who drink coffee daily have a lower risk of liver cancer and liver disease-related mortality. The study included over 350,000 participants.

This research was conducted between 2006 and 2010 on individuals aged 40 to 69 years. Their health was monitored for 13 years, focusing on liver diseases and mortality cases.

The results showed that those who drank five or more cups of coffee daily had a 32% reduced risk of liver tissue stiffness and a 47% reduced risk of liver cancer.

It is noteworthy that compounds in coffee reduce oxidative and chronic stress, which are factors that damage the liver.
