Lahore: (Right Now News) All private schools in Lahore are now required to obtain building fitness certificates. Without this, no private school can register or renew its registration.

According to sources, approximately 3,500 private schools in Lahore must acquire this certificate. This includes special inspections for schools operating in rented and residential buildings.

The proposal suggests a complete structural safety audit of school buildings. Third-party engineering consultants will be hired for safety inspections.

Under the plan, school buildings will undergo both destructive and non-destructive testing. This will accurately assess the strength and safety standards of the buildings.

It is important to note that the School Education Department has been advised to establish a comprehensive system for issuing building fitness certificates across Punjab.
