Mossad’s new chief dismisses deputy after a failed operation in Iran, signaling potential further agency changes.
Tel Aviv: (Right Now News) The new head of Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad, Roman Gofman, has dismissed his deputy following a failed operation to overthrow the government in Iran. This action comes shortly after Gofman assumed leadership of Mossad.
Prior to Gofman’s appointment, the head of Mossad’s International Relations Branch had abruptly resigned. Reports suggest that more Mossad officers may also be forced to resign.
According to an American news website, the deputy was dismissed due to last year’s failed attempt to overthrow the Iranian government. Hundreds of agents and one billion shekels were allocated for this plan.
The new Mossad chief publicly praised the deputy’s 22 years of service. The dismissed deputy director’s name has not been disclosed and is referred to as ‘A’.
It is noteworthy that Mossad’s conspiracies against the Iranian government have surfaced in the past. This incident is part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to destabilize Iran.
