Punjab CM Inaugurates ‘Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar’ Scheme for Landless Villagers

Lahore: (Right Now News) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the ‘Apna Khet, Apna Rozgar’ scheme portal. Under this initiative, landless villagers across Punjab will receive agricultural land worth 160 billion rupees.

In the first phase, 13,812 agricultural lots in various districts of Punjab will benefit 88,780 families, while 16,685 lots in Cholistan will aid 101,111 families. Overall, more than 124,000 acres of agricultural land will be distributed.

Each successful applicant will receive agricultural land valued between 2.5 to 4 million rupees, along with a grant ranging from 50,000 to 250,000 rupees per acre.

The land will be leased for 10 years and must be used solely for agricultural purposes. Farmers will have the freedom to grow crops of their choice, with technical guidance provided by agricultural officers and interns.

Officials state that this scheme will be a revolutionary step towards eradicating rural poverty and increasing agricultural production.
