According to research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), seeds respond to environmental sounds, particularly accelerating their growth with the sound of rain.

The study involved experiments on 8,000 rice seeds exposed to artificial rain sounds, showing faster growth compared to seeds kept in silence.

This process occurs due to statolith particles in seeds, which receive growth signals from rain sounds.

It is noteworthy that this research could open new avenues in agriculture, with further studies planned to explore the effects of wind or other sounds on plant growth.
