The US military claims to halt Iran’s maritime trade, but Iranian media denies it.
Washington: (Right Now News) The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has claimed to completely halt Iran’s maritime trade by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. However, Iranian media has denied this claim.
The US President announced that a blockade would be imposed on Iranian ports. According to the US military, this blockade began on Monday, and trade was suspended within 36 hours.
CENTCOM stated that the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz is only for Iran, and other ships’ movements will not be affected. According to the statement, no ship crossed the blockade in the initial 24 hours.
This action could have significant impacts on the region’s economic situation, as the Persian Gulf is a crucial hub for global trade.
It is noteworthy that Iran’s state TV reported that despite the US blockade, ship movements at Iranian ports continue, with at least four ships using the Strait of Hormuz.
