Islamabad: (Right Now News) The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has decided to change the admission policy for medical colleges starting next year. This decision is a significant move concerning the MDCAT exams.

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal stated that this decision was made on the special instructions of the Prime Minister to eliminate the academy mafia. The implementation will coincide with the intermediate exams. Previously, the MDCAT exam was held 4 to 6 months after the FSC exams, but now the gap will be only 6 days.

The Health Minister further mentioned that children of wealthy parents can afford expensive tuition fees for preparation, while children from middle-class families miss out on academy preparation. After FSC, students will not have to prepare for exams twice, as the MDCAT test will now commence 6 days after the FSC exams nationwide.

This change is crucial to reduce the preparation difficulties after the intermediate exams. It will provide equal opportunities to students from middle-class backgrounds, which is essential for equality in the education system.

It should be noted that there have been complaints about the academy mafia extorting millions from students for MDCAT exam preparation.
