Islamabad: (RightNow) Petrol and diesel prices have increased in Pakistan, while oil refineries have recorded over a 1000% profit increase compared to last year.

According to a report sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, Attock Refinery’s net profit has surged from 1.35 billion rupees to 18.65 billion rupees. Similarly, other refineries have also seen significant profit increases.

The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association states that fuel supply is normal, and petroleum products continue to arrive from Gulf suppliers. Citizens are advised to refrain from hoarding fuel.

It is important to note that oil refineries claim to have borne a financial burden of 86.22 billion rupees despite the rise in petroleum prices.

Remember that the local refinery industry played a crucial role in maintaining supply during the recent crisis, but policy changes could create uncertainty for investors.
