Istanbul: (RightNow) Severe rainfall in Istanbul, Turkey’s largest city, has led to flooding, resulting in the deaths of 3 people and 5 missing. Authorities report that roads are submerged, and electricity and water supplies are disrupted in several areas.

According to Istanbul Governor Davut Gul, this is the heaviest rainfall since 1942. A body was found in Kagithane, and a 14-year-old boy died from electrocution in Balat.

In Beykoz, a person reportedly died after falling into a well, though officials have not confirmed this. Social media shows vehicles being swept away by the floodwaters.

Residents are advised to stay indoors, and schools will remain closed until Monday. Rescue teams are working to drain water from low-lying areas.

It is noteworthy that due to the bad weather in Istanbul, flights at airports were suspended. More rainfall is expected in various regions of Turkey.
