Islamabad: (RightNow). Cement retail prices are rising across the country. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the average price per bag in northern regions has reached Rs 1,613.

Statistics show a 1.66% increase in the week ending October 8. In southern regions, the average price per bag is Rs 1,568, a 1.32% rise from the previous week.

Government agencies indicate potential future regulations in response to the price hike. Experts suggest this increase could impact construction activities.

Prices vary across cities, with Islamabad at Rs 1,611, Karachi at Rs 1,476, and Quetta at Rs 1,560. These differences are based on local demands and costs.

It is important to note that rising cement prices have been a persistent issue, posing challenges for the construction industry. This has also led to increased housing construction costs.
