Kainat Imtiaz Retires from Cricket, Takes on New Role as Match Referee

Lahore: (RightNow) Pakistan’s fast bowler Kainat Imtiaz has announced her retirement from international cricket. She represented Pakistan in 19 ODIs and 21 T20 matches.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, Kainat played a crucial role in the teams that won the Asian Gold Medal in 2010 and 2014. She played her last ODI against Australia in January 2023.

Kainat played her last T20 match against Thailand in October 2022. She has also ventured into the field of commentary.

Kainat is now serving as a women’s match referee and has recently started her career in this role.

It is noteworthy that Kainat’s mother, Salima Imtiaz, is involved in umpiring and is the first Pakistani woman to join the ICC International Development Panel.
