A rare white-tailed eagle has been found in Pakistan after 150 years, discovered injured and now under rehabilitation.
Karachi: (RightNow). A rare white-tailed eagle has been discovered in Pakistan after nearly 150 years. Haroon Yousafzai reported that the eagle was found injured during a study on migratory birds in October 2025.
According to Haroon Yousafzai, the eagle migrated from Europe to Pakistan, with its eyes sewn shut and suffering severe injuries. After rescue, it was placed in a specialized environment for rehabilitation.
Timely rescue increased the chances of the white-tailed eagle’s survival. The plan is to release it into the wild in December after full recovery.
The eagle will be released from Margalla Hills, where it will be fitted with a GPS tag to monitor its movements and migration routes.
It is noteworthy that this research on migratory birds began in October 2025, eventually leading to the discovery of this rare eagle.
