Cockroach Janata Party starts Jail Bharo Movement in Mumbai, demands resignation of Chief Election Commissioner.
Mumbai: (RightNow) The Cockroach Janata Party has initiated the Jail Bharo Movement in Mumbai. The movement aims to protest against the Election Commission, with thousands participating.
Prominent figures like actors Shabana Azmi, Naseeruddin Shah, and singer Vishal Dadlani joined the protest. Demonstrators are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Despite police not granting permission, a large crowd gathered at Shivaji Park. Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed at Jantar Mantar.
Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party, stated that if the Chief Election Commissioner does not resign, protests will spread to other cities.
It is noteworthy that the Chief Election Commissioner is accused of removing 13 crore voters from electoral rolls. Karnataka’s Chief Minister claims an attempt is being made to exclude an additional 50 lakh voters.
