Inflation in Pakistan rises by 0.21% weekly, reaching 11.53% annually, affecting various income groups.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Inflation in Pakistan continues to rise steadily. Last week, inflation increased by 0.21%, reaching an annual rate of 11.53%.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, prices of 20 essential items increased last week, while prices of 10 items decreased and 21 remained stable. Chicken prices rose by 7.25%, chickpeas by 1.30%, and onions by 0.39%.
Meanwhile, sugar prices fell by 1.05%, potatoes by 0.96%, and tomatoes by 0.51%. Petrol prices decreased by 0.65%, and diesel prices saw a 3.43% reduction.
The rising inflation has affected various income groups. For those earning up to 17,732 rupees monthly, inflation was at 9%, while for those earning over 44,176 rupees, it reached 11.99%.
It is important to note that in recent years, the rising inflation rate has significantly impacted the public’s life, causing daily life challenges.
