Power Division plans to revise the formula to provide relief to non-protected consumers by applying immediate additional charges for usage over 200 units.
Islamabad: (RightNow) The Power Division has initiated discussions to provide relief to non-protected domestic consumers. A decision has been made to revise the protected formula to shield consumers from additional billing.
Sources indicate that under the new formula, additional charges will be applied this month for electricity usage exceeding 200 units. Currently, protected consumers are required to make additional payments for 6 months.
According to the new formula, immediate additional charges will be applied for usage over 200 units, offering instant relief to consumers. This change aims to resolve the issue of additional payments over 5 months.
This measure is crucial to address the problem of excessive electricity billing and to provide better facilities to consumers. It will alleviate the additional financial burden on consumers.
It is noteworthy that the issue of providing electricity at lower rates for Bitcoin mining remains unresolved. The government has failed to convince the IMF on this matter, and it will be raised again in upcoming negotiations.
