Washington: (RightNow) A discrepancy has been revealed in the number of US troop deaths in the ongoing war with Iran, compared to Pentagon’s official figures.

According to the Washington Post, five unnamed US officials reported that at least 22 American soldiers have died during the Iran conflict, while the official database records 18 deaths.

Another US official stated that some additional deaths were not directly linked to the Iran war but were due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

It is important to note that the US Secretary of Defense has dismissed the Washington Post report as false, while the Pentagon has not commented on the matter.

Previously, in July, the Pentagon had also revised the Iran war statistics, which raised questions.
