According to a Rescue 1122 report, from January to August 31, 2026, 614 men and 446 women were victims of snake attacks.

Rescue officials have reported an increase in snake incidents during the monsoon season, especially in slum areas.

The Wildlife Department states that snakes seek safe places in populated areas due to water accumulation during the monsoon.
