Washington: (RightNow) The Trump administration has issued US visas to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. These visas are for attending the United Nations General Assembly.
A spokesperson for the US State Department stated that key officials of the Iranian delegation have been granted visas. The number of delegates is fewer compared to last year.
The 81st session of the UN General Assembly is set to begin on Friday in New York and will continue until September 28. Officials confirm that host country responsibilities have been fulfilled.
It is important to note that US authorities have issued visas to the Iranian delegation despite travel restrictions. However, some additional restrictions will apply.
It should be remembered that the US denied a visa to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for attending the UN General Assembly.
