Islamabad: (RightNow) Convicted in the 190 million pounds case, Bushra Bibi has approached the Federal Constitutional Court for an urgent hearing of her sentence suspension appeal. Her application states that her eye condition has recurred and prison medical facilities are inadequate.

The application argues that delays in treatment could endanger Bushra Bibi’s eyesight and health. It further states that the ongoing imprisonment without a case decision is negatively impacting her health.

Bushra Bibi’s lawyer has requested the court to schedule the hearing of her appeal in the week starting September 21, 2026. He claims that the unclear delay has already caused her significant harm.

The application also mentions that in the interest of justice, the appeal for sentence suspension should be heard promptly to prevent further harm to Bushra Bibi.

It is noteworthy that Bushra Bibi is the former First Lady of Pakistan and was sentenced to 7 years in prison by an accountability court in January 2025. She is serving her sentence in the 190 million pounds case.
