Karachi: (RightNow) Passengers on a PIA flight from Karachi to Jeddah evacuated after a fire alert in engine number two. PIA spokesperson denies any fire occurrence.

Sources report the incident occurred during parking at Jeddah Airport when the pilot initiated an emergency evacuation due to the fire alert.

Passengers were safely evacuated via slides through emergency exits. A few sustained minor injuries and were taken to a clinic for medical examination.

Airport authorities promptly called the fire brigade. PIA’s Jeddah officials informed all airport and security departments about the situation.

It is noteworthy that the PIA spokesperson stated ground staff suspected a fire in the engine. After a detailed inspection, the suspicion proved incorrect.
